MiZone Rapid Internal Launch

The Challenge

In 2007 Frucor beverages came to Brand Events with its most important internal product launch of the year. A new product to hit the market to tackle the market leader, the purpose of the day was to motivate and inform sales staff to drive uptake of the new product all around New Zealand. Our challenge was to create a motivating one day experience that demonstrated the key messages of the new brand – Mizone Rapid.

What we delivered

At short notice, we secured one of Auckland’s highest profile new venues – Vector Arena. Design, staging, theming, catering and activities were all activated by Brand Events. Our MC and head ‘referee’ for the day was Brooke Howard-smith, his background in extreme sports made him the perfect candidate for such an energetic day.

Initially all staff members had no information about the day they were attending, so the mystery was revealed on stage through a series of speeches from management staff, our MC and our special guest motivational speaker – Mark Inglis. Mark was briefed and assisted by Brand Events to liken his experiences to a “Game”, and to relate that to the sales Reps, to give them a taste of what was to come. The theme for the day was ‘Game On’. Mark’s energy, mental application and dedication left a last impression on everyone.

After the reps were motivated, and introduced to the brand – it was up to Brooke and the Brand Events team to engage the Frucor staff to get the ball rolling on a number of team activities throughout the day.

The staff were put into 12 teams, identified by lycra headbands. They were led through a number of different activities, some were physically challenging, whilst others were more mentally challenging. Firstly Ant Strachan and Joel Schmidt from the Auckland Blues ran everyone through a group warm-up, to get them into the spirit of the day. They then split into their teams for the other activities, and their focus groups and workshops. One of the games focussed on mental challenges, one on physical, and one was just straight out fun – the Human Foosball!

Overall the day was hugely successful for Frucor and their staff left the day excited and invigorated, ready to take their brand to the top.
